Ferozepur police arrest 3; recover 3 pistols, 20 live rounds
Firozpur, October 8, 2026: The Firozpur Police have achieved a major success by arresting three accused under the Arms Act and recovering three .32 bore pistols with magazines, 20 live cartridges and one motorcycle.
Giving this information to the press, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, PPS, SSP Ferozepur, said that in line with the directions of the Punjab Government and the Director General of Police, Punjab, the district police are taking effective action to completely crush drug networks, smugglers, anti-social elements and criminal gangs. To make the drive effective, special teams have been formed under the supervision of gazetted police officers across the district, and they are continuously acting against such elements throughout the area.
As part of this campaign, a CIA Zira team achieved a big breakthrough while Sub-Inspector Vikramjit Singh and fellow officers were on patrol. When the police party reached near the railway phatak, an informer tipped them off that Sahil alias Dhap, son of Joginder Singh, resident of village Nizamuddin Wala, Police Station Makhu; Sandeep Kumar, son of Veer, resident of village Talwandi Nipala, Police Station Makhu; and Sandeep alias Mintu, son of Nirdhar, resident of village Nipala, Police Station Makhu, are close associates of a notorious smuggler. The informer said the trio were coming via the path along the canal toward Butewala to deliver a consignment to the smuggler at Makhu.
Acting on the tip, the police intercepted the three men near the canal bridge at Hoke Pandhari and recovered three .32 bore pistols with magazines and 20 live cartridges from them.
A case, FIR No. 209 dated 07.10.2026, under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act, has been registered at Police Station Makhu.
