Haryana IAS officer appointed as Deputy Secretary, M/o Coal

Chandigarh, May 8, 2026 – The Haryana Government has placed the services of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Prashant Panwar at the disposal of the Central Government. Sh. Panwar, a 2015-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Union Ministry of Coal.
At present, Sh. Prashant Panwar is serving as Director and Special Secretary in the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA).
In addition, he was also holding the responsibilities of Mission Director, Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana; Chief Executive Officer, Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority; and Special Secretary, Citizen Resources Information Department (CRID) in the state government.
