India’s active COVID-19 cases cross 6,000 mark; 6 deaths reported in last 24 hours

New Delhi, June 8, 2025:India is witnessing a concerning rise in COVID-19 cases once again, with active infections crossing the 6,000 mark. In the last 24 hours alone, six COVID-related deaths have been reported across the country.Kerala remains the worst-affected state, recording three of the six fatalities.
The state currently has the highest number of active cases at 1,950, with 144 new infections reported in the past day.Other states also reported a steady uptick in cases:
- Gujarat: 822 active cases
- Delhi: 686 cases
- Maharashtra: 595 cases
- Karnataka: 366 cases
- Uttar Pradesh: 219 cases
- Tamil Nadu: 194 cases
- Rajasthan: 132 cases
- Haryana: 102 cases
Health officials are urging the public to remain cautious, follow safety guidelines, and get vaccinated or boosted if eligible. While the overall hospitalization rate remains under control, the rising numbers are being closely monitored by health authorities.
