Panchayat Elections of these two villages of Punjab get cancelled

Jagraon (Ludhiana), October 15, 2024: The election of Sarpanch of village Pona and village Dalla has been canceled by the district election officer late at night a day at around 10 pm before the polls.
The Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana and the District Election Officer issued an order to completely stop the Sarpanch elections of these two villages of Jagraon.
In the letter issued by the election officer, it was decided to cancel the election after the complaint of a candidate of village Pona regarding NOC.
According to the letter, the reason for the cancellation of the election of Sarpanch is the complaint received by the candidate Harpreet Singh alias Raj and his brother Bhupinder Singh about the cancellation of NOC.
The next date for the election of Sarpanch in the village will be fixed after the investigation. Dalla village near Jagraon where the election activities were in full swing for the last several days and the candidates had also spent thousands of rupees for the elections. But in the notice issued by the election officer on the instructions of the Election Commission to cancel the election, the main reason for this is the complaint of cancellation of the form based on the nomination papers of the Sarpanch.
The next date for the election will be announced after the settlement of the complaint regarding the Sarpanch election of village Dalla.
