Ludhiana (Punjab), March 18, 2025 – Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh lauded the transformative healthcare initiatives led by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, emphasizing the government's commitment to accessible, affordable, and high-quality medical care.
Addressing a gathering in Ludhiana, Dr. Balbir Singh highlighted the success of 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics, which have provided free treatment and medicines to over three crore patients, saving ₹1,200 crore in out-of-pocket expenses for the people of Punjab.
He praised CM Bhagwant Mann’s visionary leadership, which has revamped government hospitals and expanded healthcare access.
Major Healthcare Milestones:
Aam Aadmi Clinics: Over 3 crore patients treated, ensuring free medicines and medical care for all.
Government Hospitals Upgrade: Free medicines provided in all government hospitals for the first time.
CSR & MPLAD-Funded Hospital Redevelopment: Ludhiana Civil Hospital upgraded; similar plans for Jalandhar, Amritsar, Bathinda, and Barnala hospitals.
₹11,000 Crore Investment in Healthcare Infrastructure: Massive funding to build large-scale hospitals offering free treatment.
12 New Medical Colleges: Six government and six private institutions to strengthen Punjab’s medical education and workforce.
Dr. Balbir Singh announced that on March 23, in Nawanshahr, the land of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the foundation stone for Punjab’s next major healthcare initiative will be laid, further reinforcing the state’s commitment to providing world-class medical facilities to its citizens.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of Punjab’s 3.5 crore citizens, Dr. Balbir Singh credited Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann for their bold reforms in healthcare and public welfare, ensuring a healthier future for Punjab.
