School Bus with children falls into drain; timely rescue prevents major tragedy
Ferozepur, April 5, 2025: A major accident was averted today when a school bus carrying around two dozen children fell into a drain near Hasti Wala village near Ferozepur.
The bus, belonging to Guru Ramdas Public School, Armanpura, was dropping off students when it crashed into the grill of a bridge and plunged into the drain. Fortunately, all children and the driver sustained only minor injuries.
Eyewitness Kirpa Singh, who was nearby, recounted that locals and passersby rushed to the scene upon hearing the children’s cries. They immediately broke the bus windows and safely pulled the children out.
Villager Jagga Singh suspected that the accident occurred due to a loose wheel, indicating poor vehicle maintenance. Another parent, Jaswinder Singh, stated that he had repeatedly complained to the school management about the poor condition of the bus, but no action had been taken.
Despite this serious incident, the school authorities have not issued any statement yet. This accident underscores the urgent need for regular inspections and maintenance of school buses to ensure the safety of students.
