Amritsar (Punjab), December 8, 2025 — Sri Akal Takht Sahib has accepted the apology of Jaswant Singh Srinagar and directed him to perform a religious tankhah (penance) for his past remarks, granting him pardon under Sikh tenets.
As per the Takht’s decree, Srinagar will serve the community through secular duties: washing utensils and sweeping footwear areas in the Langar Hall of Patiala. For four consecutive days, in addition to these duties, he must recite daily paaths — Sri Japji Sahib, Sri Sukhmani Sahib, and the Zafarnama of Kalgidhar Patshah.
Beyond seva and recitations, Srinagar will read the book “Jin Kari Jivan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji” by Principal Satbir Singh and distribute 100 copies among the sangat as part of his penance.
Upon completing his service, he is to offer ₹1,100 Karah Prasad at Akal Takht Sahib and deposit ₹1,100 in the Guru’s Golak, followed by an ardas seeking forgiveness.
Srinagar bowed before the Takht and asked the Sikh Sangat for pardon, vowing to uphold humility, truth, and the dignity of the Khalsa Panth.
