Three Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib burnt in fire incident; Akal Takth Jathedar issues strict directives

Gurdaspur (Punjab), March 30, 2025: A tragic fire broke out at Gurdwara Sahib in village Bham, Rachowal, late last night, caused by a short circuit, resulting in the burning of three sacred Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, along with Gutka Sahib and other religious scriptures.
Upon learning about the incident, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib rushed to the site to assess the situation. He took a strict stance, emphasizing that every Gurdwara Sahib must have round-the-clock watchmen.
He further announced that any Gurdwara Sahib without security personnel would have its sacred Saroops moved to nearby historical Gurdwaras.Additionally, he has summoned the entire village to Sri Akal Takht Sahib for further discussions.
Meanwhile, DSP Hari Krishna, who is leading the investigation, stated that a forensic team has been deployed to examine all possible causes. He assured that if any foul play is detected, those responsible will face strict action.
The incident has left the devotees in deep grief, and authorities are urging vigilance to prevent such tragedies in the future.
