MP Sanjeev Arora inaugurates HEIS Building at Govt College for Girls, announces additional Rs.25 lakh grant

Ludhiana (Punjab), April 25, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Higher Education Institution Society (HEIS) at Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, on Friday.
The building was constructed with a grant of Rs.50 lakh released by MP Arora from the MPLAD funds during the last fiscal year. The facility includes a computer lab and two classrooms.
The primary objective of HEIS is to uphold and enhance the standards of education, particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Speaking on the occasion, MP Arora appreciated the initiative, stating that the HEIS aims to develop a technically skilled workforce. He noted that the laboratories are well-equipped with the necessary IT infrastructure. He expressed hope that the new infrastructure would help the college achieve greater academic excellence and ensure quality education in the field of technology.
Arora further shared that the college is set to introduce new courses—BBA, BCA, and B.Com in Tax Planning—under the HEIS initiative. He emphasised that these new streams will provide students with wider career options and better opportunities.
Encouraging students to explore prospects within the country, he said, “Do not dream of settling abroad, as India now offers abundant career opportunities.” He pointed out that many Indians who had previously moved overseas are returning due to the growing potential at home. He added that India is on the right track of development, and job opportunities are steadily increasing.
He also advised the youth to show respect to their elders. He advised the students not to remain idle after completing their education, but to actively contribute to the nation by pursuing a career in their chosen field.
On this occasion, Arora announced an additional grant of Rs.25 lakh for the college and assured further financial assistance if needed in the future.
