Nasha Mukti Yatra Phase-II gains momentum: MLA Dahiya leads ‘War Against Drugs’ in Ferozepur villages
Ferozepur, May 17, 2025: The Punjab government has intensified its efforts to combat the drug menace with the launch of the second phase of the Nasha Mukti Yatra. Under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, this campaign aims to eradicate drugs from the state through coordinated efforts by the administration, law enforcement, and the public.
As part of this initiative, MLA Rajneesh Dahiya of Ferozepur Rural visited the villages of Changali Jadid, Faride Wala, and Sur Singh Wala, where he addressed public gatherings under the banner of “War on Drugs.”
Speaking at the events, MLA Dahiya emphasised that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is committed to steering Punjab’s youth away from addiction and toward a better future. He highlighted that consistent crackdowns have disrupted drug supply chains, and a significant number of arrests have been made of those involved in the illegal drug trade, both within the state and at the international borders.
He added that the state has significantly strengthened drug treatment and rehabilitation facilities for those willing to break free from addiction. “The Nasha Mukti Yatra is not just about awareness; it’s about building a positive and drug-free environment,” Dahiya stated.
MLA Dahiya also administered an anti-drug oath to the villagers, urging them to report any drug-related activities to the nearest police station. “This battle cannot be won by the government alone—it requires the active participation of every citizen,” he said.
Dahiya praised the collective efforts of the civil and police administration and social organisations, noting that public support has been instrumental in the success of this movement so far.
