Sanjeev Sood appointed Director (Technical) at PSTCL for 2-year term

Patiala (Punjab), May 21, 2025 – The Punjab government has appointed Sanjeev Sood, retired Engineer-in-Chief of the Punjab State Transmission Corporation Ltd (PSTCL), as the new Director (Technical) of PSTCL for a period of two years.
Sood brings with him over 30 years and 6 months of extensive experience in power distribution, planning, metering, enforcement, and sub-transmission design and construction. He previously served as Chief Engineer/Engineer-in-Chief for 2 years and 6 months, where he played a pivotal role in several key infrastructure projects.
During his tenure, he was instrumental in the commissioning of the 400 KV substations at Dhanasu and Ropar and in reviving stalled 220 KV projects, including the GIS station at Sherpur and the AIS station at Budhlada.
Earlier in his career, as an Executive Engineer, Sood introduced a two-tier system in distribution and successfully implemented Punjab State Electricity Board’s (PSEB) first SAP-based online metering system in Patiala.
