Babushahi Bureau
Amritsar (Punjab), May 21, 2025: In a significant decision, Sri Akal Takht Sahib has ordered the suspension of the President, Secretary, and Treasurer of Gurdwara Baba Buddha Ji, Hamilton, Canada, over serious allegations of harassment against Bibi Parminderpal Kaur, widow of Sikh martyr Dr. Gurpreet Singh, a native of Ludhiana.
The order was issued following a meeting of the Five Singh Sahiban at the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Wednesday, 08 Jeth Nanakshahi Samvat 557 (May 21, 2025).
The meeting reviewed written complaints alleging mental and social harassment of Bibi Parminderpal Kaur and her family by members of the Gurdwara’s management.
According to the decision:
- Sant Singh, President of the Management Committee, has been summoned to personally appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib to present his explanation.
- Kulwinder Singh Multani (Treasurer) and Jas Sohal (Secretary) have been directed to submit written responses.
- Until they respond and present their cases, their services are suspended with immediate effect.
The Five Singh Sahiban also noted that several committee members have been described as "morally corrupt" in the complaints—a clear violation of previous directives issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Additional Directives:
- The Gurdwara Management Committee must immediately arrange appropriate accommodation and services for Bibi Parminderpal Kaur at the Gurdwara premises.
- The committee will also bear full responsibility for the safety and well-being of Bibi Parminderpal Kaur and her family.
- The Sikh Sangat of Ontario, Canada, has been urged to ensure full compliance with the directives issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Panthic Appeal
The Akal Takht Sahib has issued a heartfelt appeal to the entire Sikh Panth to uphold the tradition of honoring and supporting the families of martyrs, emphasizing that such families should be treated with the highest respect and dignity.
