In a first, Himachal hosts Pre-State Shooting Championship in Kathlighat with over 600 shooters participating

Kathlighat (Himachal Pradesh), June 9, 2025: For the first time in Himachal Pradesh, the Pre-State Shooting Championship has commenced at Kathlighat, with over 600 shooters participating from across the state.
The event, which began today, will continue till June 12.Himachal Pradesh Rifle Association Secretary Ishwar Rohal informed that the 10-meter pistol events are being held at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in Shimla from June 9 to 11.
Meanwhile, 50-meter rifle, 50-meter pistol, and 25-meter pistol events are taking place at the Kathlighat venue between June 9 and 12.Rohal emphasized that the championship is focused exclusively on individual events, giving participants a unique opportunity to refine their skills. "
This is a landmark event for Himachal shooters. It not only allows them to compete at a high level but also serves as an important trial platform ahead of the main State Championship," he said.
The event has generated enthusiasm among local athletes and is expected to strengthen the shooting sports ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh.
