Gurdas Maan's younger brother Gurpanth Maan passes away, CM Mann, other prominent leaders attend funeral

Chandigarh, June 10, 2025: In a heartbreaking loss to the Punjabi music world, Gurpanth Maan, the younger brother of legendary Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan, passed away on Monday.He had been battling cancer and breathed his last at Fortis Hospital in Chandigarh.
His final rites were performed at the cremation ground in Chandigarh, attended by several high-profile dignitaries including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
An emotional moment marked the ceremony as Gurdas Maan himself carried his brother’s bier, bidding him a tearful farewell.Gurpanth had been unwell for some time, though his health had shown some improvement in recent days, and he was even discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately, his condition worsened again, leading to his demise during treatment.
Family and Personal Life
Gurpanth Maan is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter. Both his children live in Canada, while Gurpanth resided in Giddarbaha with his wife. He was one of three siblings – Gurdas Maan, Gurpanth, and their sister.
A Life of Business and Love for Music
Though younger than Gurdas Maan, Gurpanth shared a deep connection with music. Until the early 1990s, he performed on stage with his brother, playing the mandolin.Later, he chose to step away from the stage and started his own business in Giddarbaha. He was also actively involved in farming.
His untimely death has left the Maan family and the Punjabi cultural community in deep sorrow. Friends and fans remember him as a gentle, humble, and warm-hearted individual with a lasting passion for music.
