CGST Ludhiana Uncovers ₹62 Crore GST Evasion in Audio-Video Production Sector; Two Arrested

Central GST Ludhiana has exposed a major GST evasion racket amounting to ₹62 crore, following a targeted investigation into several firms engaged in audio-video production. Acting on specific intelligence, authorities discovered that these companies had imported services valued at ₹342 crore from overseas suppliers but failed to pay the applicable GST.
The investigation further revealed that the firms disregarded the documentation procedures mandated under GST law, highlighting what officials describe as blatant tax evasion practices.
Two key individuals, alleged to have created and operated this network of firms, were arrested on July 30, 2025. CGST officials confirmed that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to unravel the full scale of the evasion and identify additional culprits within the network.
The CGST Ludhiana Commissionerate reiterated its commitment to tackling GST fraud and ensuring fair competition for law-abiding businesses. The probe is continuing, with further developments expected as investigators expand their inquiry into the suspected evasion scheme.
