Body of 48-year-old Punjab man brought back from Greece

Amritsar (Punjab), August 1, 2025– The mortal remains of 48-year-old Harjinder Singh, a resident of village Dhaul near Balachaur in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, were repatriated from Greece to Amritsar's Sri Guru Ram Dass International Airport early this morning.
The body was respectfully transported to his native village through the free ambulance service provided by the Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust. Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi, a Dubai-based philanthropist and founder of the trust, informed that Harjinder had been working in Greece for the past 20 years to support his family. Unfortunately, he lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident on July 14 in Greece.
Upon receiving the body at the airport, trust representative Rajbir Singh ensured its transfer to the family’s home with full dignity.
Harjinder leaves behind his aged parents (around 95 years old), his wife, a daughter, and a son.Dr. Oberoi further announced that the trust will assess the family’s financial condition and soon begin providing monthly pension support as needed.
To date, under Dr. Oberoi’s leadership, the Sarbat Da Bhala Trust has facilitated the repatriation of nearly 421 deceased Indians from abroad and has launched a free ambulance service from Amritsar Airport to help grieving families during their most difficult times.
Family members of the deceased, including cousins Harnek Singh, Nachhattar Singh, and Kala Singh, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Oberoi and the trust for their timely and compassionate assistance.
