Chandigarh, February 27, 2026:Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Thursday termed the recent court verdict in the excise policy case as a decisive victory of truth and democratic values.
Reacting to the acquittal of AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and other accused, the Minister said the judgment has categorically established that the allegations levelled against them were false and baseless.
Mr. Bhagat stated that the decision has further strengthened the common people’s faith in the judiciary and reaffirmed the principle that truth and justice ultimately prevail.
He remarked that several attempts were made to malign the image of a democratically elected leadership, but the judicial process has now brought clarity and vindication.
Describing Mr. Kejriwal as a committed and visionary leader, the Cabinet Minister said that despite political challenges and sustained criticism, he has remained focused on transparent governance and public welfare.
He added that the verdict will reinforce democratic traditions in the country and underline the enduring importance of truth, accountability and justice in public life.
