Gurdaspur Double Cop Murder: Inderjit also arrested; Dilawar makes big relevations

Amritsar (Punjab), February 27, 2026: Punjab Police has arrested the third accused in the sensational murder of two policemen in village Adhiyan, Gurdaspur, with the capture of Inderjit from Amritsar. The arrest follows crucial disclosures made by co-accused Dilawar Singh during interrogation.
According to police sources, Dilawar Singh revealed that it was Inderjit and Ranjit Singh who opened fire on the ASI and the accompanying police personnel.
Dilawar claimed that while he was present at the scene, the fatal shots were allegedly fired by the other two accused.
Ranjit Singh was killed in a police encounter two days ago. Following the encounter, Inderjit had been absconding before being tracked down and arrested from Amritsar on Thursday.
Dilawar Singh remains in police custody, and investigators say his statements helped them reach the next link in the case.
The case pertains to the brutal killing of two policemen who were on duty at a checkpoint in village Adhiyan, Gurdaspur. After the incident, Punjab Police launched a massive manhunt to apprehend those involved.
