CCP, CGC Landran approved as ADR Monitoring Centre under PVPI
Only private pharmacy college in Punjab to have received this prestigious approval

Chandigarh, July 3, 2026: Chandigarh College of Pharmacy (CCP), CGC Landran, has achieved a significant milestone by being approved as an Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring Centre under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It is worth noting that CCP, CGC Landran is the only private pharmacy college in Punjab to have received this prestigious approval, placing the institution among a select group of pharmacy colleges across India entrusted with advancing the nation’s Pharmacovigilance activities.
The PvPI monitors the safety of medicines by promoting the reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to improve patient safety and the rational use of medicines. It also contributes India’s ADR data to the World Health Organization Programme for International Drug Monitoring, coordinated by the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC), Sweden, thereby supporting global medicine safety.
The establishment of an ADR Monitoring Centre at CCP, CGC Landran, marks a major advancement in the institute’s commitment to excellence in healthcare education and patient welfare. The centre will serve as a hub for drug safety surveillance, ADR reporting, Pharmacovigilance research, education, and community outreach. It will facilitate the collection, assessment, and reporting of adverse drug reactions while promoting a culture of safe and rational medicine use.
The ADR Monitoring Centre will also provide pharmacy students and faculty with valuable hands-on experience in Pharmacovigilance practices, including ADR reporting, causality assessment, data management, and drug safety evaluation. This practical exposure will strengthen their professional competencies, enhance research opportunities, and improve their preparedness for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, clinical research, regulatory affairs and drug safety.
