New Delhi, July 20, 2026: The Congress high command has convened a crucial meeting of Punjab Congress leaders in New Delhi on Tuesday to chalk out the party’s strategy for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections scheduled early next year.
The meeting will be chaired by All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of Punjab, Bhupesh Baghel, and will bring together members of the party’s newly constituted election committees.
Senior Punjab Congress leaders, including former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Amar Singh, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, and Dharamvira Gandhi, are expected to attend the meeting as they will already be in Delhi for the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The strategy session comes in the backdrop of recent organisational changes in the Punjab Congress that triggered internal differences after Raja Warring was retained as the state unit chief. The decision had reportedly drawn objections from a section of the party led by supporters of Charanjit Singh Channi.
