Breaking: Chandigarh Traffic Police bans personnel from posting official videos on social media
SSP issues directive prohibiting officers from uploading or circulating traffic enforcement and accident videos on personal platforms.

Chandigarh, July 20, 2026: The Chandigarh Traffic Police has directed all its personnel not to upload or share videos related to traffic enforcement, road accidents or official police work on personal social media platforms.
The order, issued by Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic & Security), U.T. Chandigarh, states that it has been observed that some traffic enforcement and challenging activities, as well as certain traffic officials, have been sharing photographs and videos of incidents on WhatsApp groups and social media platforms.
According to the directive, all traffic police officers and personnel have been instructed not to upload or circulate any such photographs or videos, including those related to enforcement activities, accidents, Instagram posts or any communication concerning such incidents, if required to be brought to the notice of senior officers.
The order further states that all such information should be shared only through official wireless communication channels or the departmental mobile phone of the concerned officer.
The SSP warned that any violation of the instructions would be viewed seriously and could invite disciplinary action. The directive has been issued to ensure strict compliance with departmental protocols and maintain discipline within the Chandigarh Traffic Police.
