New Delhi, August 18, 2026: Delhi Shiromani Akali Dal president Paramjit Singh Sarna has indicated that the Kartarpur Corridor is likely to reopen soon, following his meeting with officials at the Pakistan High Commission.
Sarna said that around 8,000 to 9,000 pilgrims are expected to travel to Pakistan this time. He expressed confidence that the Kartarpur Corridor would be reopened shortly, saying the government would not be able to keep the corridor closed for long.
“From the government’s statements, it appears that it also wants to build better relations with Pakistan. The Kartarpur Corridor will open soon,” Sarna said.
The development comes amid discussions over the movement of Sikh pilgrims between India and Pakistan and the future of religious travel through the Kartarpur Corridor.
