Justice Pankaj Jain inaugurates 'Mother’s Touch' Crèche, extended Bar room and utility shops at Sangrur District Courts

Sangrur (Punjab), September 9, 2026: Justice Pankaj Jain, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, and Administrative Judge of Sangrur Sessions Division, visited the District Courts Complex, Sangrur, on September 9 and inaugurated several new facilities aimed at strengthening court infrastructure and improving amenities for advocates, court staff and litigants.
On the occasion, Sh. Munish Singal, District & Sessions Judge, Sangrur, along with Sh. S.S. Dhindsa, President, Bar Association, Sangrur; Sh. G.S. Grewal, Member, Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana; and other senior members of the Bar accorded a warm welcome to Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pankaj Jain.
The Crèche facility, aptly named “Mother’s Touch,” at the District Courts Complex, Sangrur, was conceptualized by Hon’ble Ms. Justice Alka Sarin, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, during her tenure as the Administrative Judge of Sangrur Sessions Division.
The facility was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pankaj Jain, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court. The Crèche has been established to provide a safe, secure and child-friendly environment for the children of working parents. The initiative is expected to provide much-needed support to working parents and contribute to creating a more inclusive and family-friendly environment within the court complex.
His Lordship also inaugurated the Extended Bar Room, which will provide additional space and improved facilities for members of the Bar. The expansion is intended to cater to the growing requirements of advocates and provide them with a more comfortable and conducive working environment within the court complex.
Further, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pankaj Jain inaugurated six newly constructed Utility Shops at the District Courts Complex, Sangrur. These Utility Shops have been set up to provide essential services to advocates, litigants, court staff and other stakeholders visiting the courts. During the visit, His Lordship also reviewed the functioning and infrastructure of the court complex and emphasised the importance of continuously improving judicial infrastructure and amenities so as to create an efficient, accessible and litigant-friendly environment
