Ferozepur Police, BSF seize 20.298 kg heroin and arms in joint operation
Ferozepur, October 8, 2026: In a major success under the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign, the Ferozepur Police, in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF), has recovered 20.298 kg of heroin along with arms and other material from the border area.
According to the press note issued by the Ferozepur Police, the operation was carried out on October 7 following specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of drugs and weapons through the border area.
During the operation, the police and BSF recovered 20 packets containing 20 kg 298 grams of heroin, along with 12 ballistic rods, two magazines, one plier and two iron rods.
The operation was conducted by a team of Ferozepur Police and BSF personnel under the supervision of senior police officers. The recovered contraband and other material have been taken into possession for further investigation.
The police said that efforts were being made to identify and apprehend the persons involved in the smuggling network. Further investigation is underway to establish the source of the heroin and its intended destination.
The Ferozepur Police reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against drug trafficking and appealed to the public to provide information about drug-related activities to the police.
