Nawanshahr, 30 April, 2018: The SAD MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, advised the CM, Capt. Narinder Singh not to be misled by the bureaucrats over the issue of the deletions of chapters related to Sikh history especially the great Gurus from the PSEB history syllabus for class 12 th.
Prof. Chandumajra was interacting with the media persons here today at the residence of Local SAD leader, Manjit Singh Transporter. Earlier, he visited the residence of renowned Dhadhi, Kuljit Singh Dilwar,to condole the demise of his mother.
" While most of the chapters relating to the history of Sikh Gurus and Sufi saints have been deleted from the syllabus, but the CM,Capt.Amrinder Singh has categorically been claiming that not even a word relating to the Sikh Gurus has been changed from the syllabus", said the MP while adding that
he was of the opinion that the CM had been misled by the bureaucracy.
" Instead of being adamant to deny the allegations merely on the basis of misleading feedback, the CM should order an inquiry into the whole episode and take strict action against the errant officials" ,
further said Chandumajra adding that the issue of deletion of chapters relating to Sikh Gurus was not a political issue but it was very close to the heart of each and every Punjabi.
Prof. Chandumajra, while welcoming the statement of Dr. Subramaniam Swami, in which he had stated that Santa Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale had never raised the demand of Khalistan, said that the statement had proved the SAD stand over the decades true.
" The SAD has always been raising it's voice against the Congress's malafide campaign against the Sikh community over the issue of Khalistan" said Prof. Chandumajra adding that had the Congress not played such malicious politics to malign the image of Sikh community, the Punjab in general and Sikh community in particular would not have witnessed the operation blue star and Sikh genocide in 1984.
SAD leaders Manjit Singh Transporter, Kuljit Singh Lucky and Jaspal Singh Jadli were present on the occasion.
