Directs police officials to increase vigil in their areas

JALANDHAR, November 19 : Director General of Police (DGP) (law and order) Mr Hardeep Singh Dhillon today directed the police officers of the region to make full-proof security arrangements in their respective areas for maintaining law and order in the state.
Presiding over a review meeting with Inspector General of Police (Jalandhar Zone) Mr Naunihal Singh, Police Commissioner Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, SSP Hoshiarpur Mr J Elanchezhian, SSP Jalandhar rural Mr Navjot Singh Mahal and others, here at local Police lines, Mr Dhillon told them to take all preventive measures for maintaining the law and order in their areas. He said that the Police officers must ensure that the force performs its duty diligently to curb the anti-national forces with a firm hand. The DGP reiterated the firm commitment of the Punjab Police to maintain the hard earned peace of state at every cost.
Mr Dhillon stressed upon the need of night domination drives by police chiefs, sealing of entry points of the cities, intensive checking and nakas and asked the heads to supervise the situation round the clock besides holding daily meetings for effective measures. He said that special security arrangements should be made in prominent places, such as crowded markets, sensitive areas and other places.
He categorically told that Punjab Police is capable of handling any kind of situation. He cited the example of such incidents in past, he said that Punjab overcame even those ‘dark days’ due to the firm commitment and resolve of police. In the meeting, he also enquired about the efforts taken by them in their respective jurisdiction in the recent days.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) Mr Parambir Singh Parmar, Mr Gurmeet Singh, all officers of SP and DSP ranks of Jalandhar city, Jalandhar rural and others took part in the meeting.
