SVEEP Team spearheads Voter Awareness Drive in banks ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Punjab
Ferozepur, April 19, 2024: In a proactive move to bolster voter participation, the SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) team, led by District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and Assistant Returning Officer cum SDM Guruharsahai Mr. Gagandeep Singh, alongside special contributions from Tehsildar Chand Prakash, Superintendent Kewal Krishan, District SVEEP Coordinator Dr. Satinder Singh, and Kanungo Madam Gagandeep, intensified their voter awareness campaign by engaging with various banks.
Today marked a significant milestone as the SVEEP team, in collaboration with banks, ramped up efforts to encourage voting in the upcoming elections scheduled for June 1 in Punjab. The team collaborated with State Bank Main Branch Guru Har Sahai, Punjab & Sindh Bank, and HDFC Bank, engaging customers and urging them to actively participate in the electoral process.
Under the guidance of SVEEP team coordinator Parvinder Singh Lalchian, Harmanpreet Singh, Madam Charanjit Kaur, and Sushil Kumar, voters were briefed about the Election Commission's arrangements at polling booths, facilities for different voter categories such as youth, women, and senior citizens with disabilities.
During the visit, key bank officials including State Bank Main Branch Chief Manager Prem Kumar Garg, State Bank Guruharshai Patiala Branch Bank Manager Amandeep Sidana, Punjab and Sind Bank Manager Gurjit Singh, and HDFC Bank Manager Pradeep Thukral pledged their support to promote voting among customers using various communication tools like flexes and banners.
The presence of Balwant Singh, Manpreet Singh, and Rohit Kumar from the election office's account team underscored the collaborative effort towards fostering a more engaged and participative electorate in Punjab.
