Ludhiana (Punjab), February 28, 2025: The Department of Extension Education and Communication Management (EECM), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), organized a hands-on Entrepreneurial Training on Artistic Creation Techniques as part of the Rural Awareness Work Experience (RAWE) program.
Held under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Bains, Dean, the College of Community Science, the training aimed to empower rural women by teaching them creative and income-generating skills.
A total of 40 rural women participated in the session, where they learned soap making, candle making, and crafting decorative items from waste materials. Students engaged the participants in hands-on demonstrations, ensuring they gained practical experience creating marketable handcrafted products.
Handouts were also provided for future reference. The final products—candles, soaps, and artistically decorated bottles—were highly appreciated by attendees.
Encouraging participants to turn these skills into entrepreneurial ventures, Dr. Manjot Kaur, a Scientist (EECM), highlighted the potential of artistic creations to enhance household income and financial independence.
The initiative reflects PAU’s commitment to promoting rural entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency through skill-based training programs.
