GNDU Plans Digital Archive and Documentary to Preserve Legacy of S. Fauja Singh

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has announced plans to launch a digital archive and documentary project dedicated to preserving the extraordinary life and legacy of S. Fauja Singh for future generations, as stated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karamjeet Singh.
The initiative aims to digitally conserve the motivational journey, teachings, and achievements of the legendary marathon runner, who inspired millions with his resilience and dedication. The university intends for the archive and documentary to serve as a lasting tribute, offering valuable resources for educational and inspirational purposes.
This project complements GNDU’s commitment to celebrating and promoting the heritage of towering personalities from Punjab, with special focus on engaging youth to draw lessons from such exemplary lives.
The announcement was made during a memorial seminar held by the university honoring S. Fauja Singh’s remarkable contributions to sports and society. The event featured a tree-planting ceremony, documentary screening, and felicitations for the family members of the iconic athlete.
Under Prof. Karamjeet Singh’s leadership, GNDU continues to spearhead efforts to connect students and the public with the inspirational stories of Sikh and Punjabi legends, ensuring their legacies endure through modern educational platforms
