MLA Goldy launches paddy procurement at Jalalabad, Ghubaya mandis
Jalalabad, October 6, 2026: Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy on Tuesday formally launched the government procurement of paddy at the grain markets in Jalalabad and Ghubaya.
MLA welcomed farmers who brought their produce to the mandis and sweetened their mouths on the occasion. Speaking at the procurement centres, Kamboj said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, had completed all necessary arrangements for the paddy procurement season.
He said that farmers, labourers and commission agents would not be allowed to face any inconvenience during the procurement season. The government was committed to the welfare of farmers, labourers and every section of society, he added.
Kamboj said payments for the procured paddy would be made by the procurement agencies directly into farmers’ bank accounts within the stipulated time. He said paddy would be procured at the government-fixed Minimum Support Price of Rs 2,389 per quintal.
He added that adequate arrangements for drinking water, shade, lighting and other essential facilities had been made at the procurement centres.
MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy appealed to farmers to bring only properly dried paddy to the mandis so that they do not face any inconvenience and unnecessary congestion at the procurement centres can be avoided. He assured farmers that the Punjab Government would ensure the procurement of every single grain of their produce.
Chairman of Market Committee Jalalabad Pradeep Chugh and other officials and representatives were also present on the occasion.
