Mayank Foundation promotes road safety awareness in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, September 3, 2024: The Mayank Foundation, a prominent NGO dedicated to community welfare, spearheaded a Road Safety Awareness Campaign at St. Joseph’s Convent School in Ferozepur City. The initiative aimed to educate students on essential road safety practices, emphasizing the dangers of overspeeding, the necessity of wearing helmets and seatbelts, and the importance of adhering to traffic rules.
Keynote speakers Deepak Sharma, DSP Varinder Singh Khosa, and Ashwani Sharma addressed the gathering, highlighting the severe risks associated with overspeeding and how it significantly increases the likelihood of accidents. They stressed the critical role of helmets for two-wheeler riders and seatbelts for all vehicle occupants, which are simple yet effective measures to prevent serious injuries and fatalities in accidents. The speakers also underscored the importance of following traffic regulations, such as observing speed limits, stopping at red lights, and yielding to pedestrians, to ensure everyone’s safety on the road.
The students of St. Joseph’s Convent School actively engaged in the campaign and enthusiastically participated in a Road Safety Pledge, committing to practice the safety measures discussed during the seminar. This pledge marks a positive step towards instilling a culture of safety and responsibility among young drivers.
