Railways to run festival special trains between Amritsar–Kolkata and Amritsar–Barauni
Ferozepur, September 15, 2026: In view of the upcoming festive season and to facilitate the convenient movement of passengers, the Northern Railway has decided to operate reserved festival special express trains between Amritsar and Kolkata and between Amritsar and Barauni.
Amritsar–Kolkata–Amritsar Reserved Special Express (04624/04623): Train No. 04624 will operate from Amritsar to Kolkata every Wednesday from October 7 to November 25, 2026, covering eight trips. It will depart Amritsar at 8:10 PM and reach Kolkata at 3:00 PM after 42 hours and 50 minutes.
In the return direction, Train No. 04623 will operate from Kolkata to Amritsar every Saturday from October 10 to November 28, covering eight trips. It will depart Kolkata at 4:45 AM and reach Amritsar at 9:05 PM after 40 hours and 20 minutes.
The train will comprise one AC 2-Tier coach, two AC 3-Tier coaches, nine Sleeper coaches and six General Class coaches.
Amritsar–Barauni–Amritsar Reserved Special Express (04668/04667): Train No. 04668 will operate from Amritsar to Barauni every Sunday from October 4 to November 29, 2026, covering nine trips. It will depart Amritsar at 8:10 PM and reach Barauni at 2:10 AM after 30 hours.
Train No. 04667 will operate from Barauni to Amritsar every Tuesday from October 6 to December 1, 2026, covering nine trips. It will depart Barauni at 5:05 AM and reach Amritsar at 1:50 PM after 32 hours and 45 minutes.
This special train will also have one AC 2-Tier coach, two AC 3-Tier coaches, nine Sleeper coaches and six General Class coaches.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Basant Kumar, appealed to passengers, to avail themselves of the festival special train services and make their festive journeys more convenient and comfortable.
