Block-level competitions held at Ghall Khurd and Makhu under Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan 2026
Ferozepur, September 15, 2026: Block-level competitions under Season-4 of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan-2026 were held at village Chandar in Block Ghall Khurd and village Butewala in Block Makhu on Tuesday, with the participation of boys and girls in the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-21 age groups.
The competitions were organised by the Sports Department, Punjab Government, in collaboration with the District Administration, Ferozepur.
Sarpanch of village Chandar Gurnam Singh attended the event at Ghall Khurd as the chief guest, while Block Samiti Makhu Chairman Satjivan Singh was the special guest at the competitions held in Makhu. They encouraged the players to participate actively in sports and said that sports contribute to the physical as well as mental development of young people.
District Sports Officer Ferozepur Gurdeep Singh said that in the Circle Style Kabaddi competitions at Ghall Khurd, Bhagat Singh Wala Ghall Khurd secured first place and Machhi Bugra stood second in the Under-17 boys category. In the Under-21 boys category, Mata Sahib Kaur College, Talwandi Bhai, secured first position, followed by Guru Nanak School, Shakur, in second place and Firoz Shah in third place.
At Block Makhu, Kamalwala secured first position and the Youth Club finished second in Under-21 Shooting Volleyball.
In Kho-Kho, Fatehgarh Sabhra secured first position, Arazi Sabhra second and Fatehgarh Sabhra Club third in the Under-14 girls category. In the Under-17 girls category, Fatehgarh Sabhra stood first, Kamalwala second and Killi Gudde third. In the Under-14 boys Kho-Kho competition, Fatehgarh Sabhra secured first position, Fateh Wala second and Vattu Bhatti third.
Coaches and office staff of the Sports Department, Ferozepur, DPEs and PTIs from the Education Department, teams from the Health Department and Security Department, members of the village panchayats and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
