MANSA, June 18, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Mansa Mohindar Pal on Thursday met the family of Martyr Sepoy Gurtej Singh and extended his heartfelt condolences at their house at Birewala Dogran village in Budhlada sub-division. A 22-years-old Gurtej, who had joined the Army in 2018 was martyred during a violent clash near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China at Galwan valley.
Deputy Commissioner, who was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Budhlada Sagar Setia assured every possible help from the district administration and Punjab Government to the family. The Chief Minister Captain Amarinder led Punjab Government has already announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, along with a government job to a next of kin of the deceased.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mansa Dr Narinder Bhargav also paid his condolences to the family of the Martyr and assured every kind of help from the Police department.
Meanwhile, Gurtej was the younger among his three brothers and had completed his 12th class in the non-medical stream.
