BSF Cycle Rally with 60 cyclists covers 491 km to combat drug abuse in border areas

Ferozepur, November 24, 2024: The Border Security Force (BSF) is organizing a cycle rally from JCP Sadqi to JCP Attari, Amritsar (via JCP Hussainiwala and the Kartarpur Corridor) to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among the youth in border areas. This rally aims to educate young people about the harmful consequences of substance misuse, emphasizing the importance of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. The rally, scheduled from 23 to 30 Nov 2024, will cover a distance of 491 km.
In continuation of the cycle rally, on 24 Nov 2024, at about 0900 hrs, the rally was flagged off from BSF Camp Jalalabad by BSF senior officers. The rally, led by Brig Vijai Singh Rana (Retd), DIG BSF and approx. 60 cyclists from the BSF and Civil Population, including school students of the border area, participated in this rally.
By 1110 hrs, the rally reached Senior Secondary School, Gazniwala, passing through several border villages. It was received by the chief guest, Fauja Singh Sarari, MLA Guru Har Sahai, along with local dignitaries.
Over 400 civilians, including Sarpanch, Numberdars, and school children from border villages such as Dona Mattar, Gatti Mattar, Rao Ke Hithar, Chak Rao Ke, and Pharu Wala, participated enthusiastically.
The chief guest delivered an inspiring motivational speech on the theme “Say No to Drugs”, encouraging the border populace and youth to embrace a drug-free lifestyle. He also urged the local youth to actively participate in the cycle rally to further its mission of spreading awareness and promoting a healthier, substance-free community. The chief guest also appreciated BSF's efforts to educate youth about drug abuse through this cycle rally and appealed to make the event a success.
A weapon display program was also organized, providing information about various BSF weapons to attendees.
The rally resumed at 1220 hrs and continued, reaching BSF Camp Mamdot. During its journey, the cycle rally passed through several villages, including Dona Mattar, Chak Rao Ke, Pharu Wala, J.R. Hithar, Hajara Singh Wala, Lakha Singh Wala, and Sanke.
On 25 Nov 2024, at about 0800 hrs, the cycle rally will be flagged off from BSF Camp Mamdot towards Senior Secondary School, Barrke, and will then proceed to JCP Hussainiwala.
