DSCW celebrates Mata-Pita Santan Divas with participation of over 200 students

Ferozepur, January 29, 2025: On Thursday, the college celebrated Mata-Pita Santan Yajna under the leadership of Chairman Nirmal Singh Dhillon. The event commenced with the devotional hymn "Meri Mata Janmdata Tumhi", composed by Bhagwan Devatma, filling the atmosphere with divine melody. Over 200 students, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, attended the event.
The college under the esteemed guidance of Chairman Nirmal Singh Dhillon and Principal Dr. Sangeeta, continues to progress in its mission of imparting high values and education.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Sangeeta emphasized the teachings of Bhagwan Dev Atma on the 16 relationships, particularly the sacred bond between parents and children. Through touching anecdotes, she highlighted the importance of acknowledging and expressing gratitude for parental sacrifices. She stated that no other institution in the country holds such unique gatherings dedicated to the parent-child relationship.
The event saw active participation from students’ parents, who were deeply moved as their children expressed heartfelt gratitude, sought forgiveness, and pledged to serve them with love and respect. Many students garlanded their parents as a token of appreciation, while others recited poetry and crafted beautiful greeting cards to honour them. Teachers also shared their sentiments, reinforcing the significance of the occasion.
Paramveer Kaur also elaborated on the unconditional love and hardships parents endure for their children. She urged students to recognize their lifelong debt to their parents and support them in their old age, just as they were cared for in childhood. Palwinder Kaur extended a vote of thanks.
