Tributes paid to martyrs of India’s Freedom Struggle with 2-min silence
Ferozepur, January 30, 2025: A solemn tribute was paid to the martyrs of India’s freedom struggle and Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, at Saragarhi Park, Ferozepur. A two-minute silence was observed in their memory, with floral tributes offered to Mahatma Gandhi.
Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma and SSP Soumya Mishra, along with officials and employees of the district police and civil administration, participated in the event. A Punjab Police contingent paid homage by reversing their arms in honour of the martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Deep Shikha Sharma emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for the country’s independence. She urged people to uphold the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, including peace and non-violence, and to contribute towards the nation’s security and progress.
The event saw the presence of SP (D) Randhir Kumar, SP (H) Naveen Kumar, IPS trainee Dharawat Sai Prakash, DSP Sukhwinder Singh, DSP Arun Mundan, DSP (CIA) Rajbir Singh, DSP Fateh Singh Brar, District Education Officer Munila Arora, Red Cross Secretary Ashok Behl, and several officials from various departments.
