CGC Landran organises 8th CGC International MUN 2k25 celebrating Diversity, Inclusivity and Diplomacy

Mohali (Punjab), January 29, 2025: The Department of International Affairs, CGC Landran, successfully organized the 8th CGC International Model United Nations (MUN) 2k25 in the campus. It brought together over 350 delegates from across India and beyond for two days of insightful discussions and debates.
The event saw participation from prestigious institutions such as Hindu College, Delhi University, North Bihar University, Chandigarh University, Chitkara University, PGGGC, PU, MCM, NMIMS, Thapar University, JECRC, PEC, DPS Patiala, DAV, CJM, Sacred Heart, Woodstock School and Doon International School.
The event’s inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms. Caroline Rowett, British Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission (Chandigarh), as the Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. KJS Dhillon, and Ms. Kanchan Bedi, Head of Sales & Operations, IDP (Chandigarh) as Guests of Honour.
They were accorded a warm welcome by Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Dr. Ramandeep Saini, Dean International Affairs, CGC Landran, other Deans and Directors of the institution.
Speaking on the occasion, Rowett encouraged the participating delegates to embrace the opportunity presented by this event to collaborate, ideate and explore their skills and potential. Lt. Gen. K.J.S. Dhillon motivated the participants to never give up and to always be courageous in the face of failures, emerging stronger and more determined to soar to new heights.
The two-day event proved to be a milestone in the legacy of CGC International MUN, advancing meaningful discussions, diverse perspectives and impactful resolutions.
The enthusiasm and dedication of delegates, sponsors, and organizing teams ensured a truly memorable experience for all involved. With an exciting prize pool worth Rs. 90,000, the competition inspired delegates to deliver their best efforts.
With an inspiring blend of insightful discussions, dynamic committees, and impactful resolutions, the 8th edition of CGC International MUN is poised to be another milestone in the legacy of this esteemed conference, said Dr. Ramandeep Saini, Dean of International Affairs, CGC Landran.
Another standout feature of this MUN at CGC Landran was the ‘Prayaas Committee,’ a pioneering initiative dedicated to empowering students from schools for the visually impaired.
This platform enabled specially-abled participants to engage in global diplomacy, build confidence and contribute to impactful resolutions, reflecting CGC MUN’s commitment to inclusivity and advancing diversity.
