Chandigarh MC Commissioner Welcomes Newly Elected Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla
Chandigarh, January 30, 2025: Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, welcomed newly elected Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla in a formal meeting. The occasion marked the beginning of her tenure, with officials and dignitaries present to extend their congratulations.
Babla, who recently assumed office, was greeted with a bouquet as a gesture of goodwill.
After her unexpected victory in the mayoral election, she formally took over the responsibilities of the civic body.
Babla, a BJP councillor, won the election after securing 19 votes in the 36-member house, defeating AAP-Congress alliance candidate Prem Lata. Her assumption of office marks the beginning of her tenure as the head of the municipal corporation.
