Chandigarh, February 3, 2025: Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana attacked the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, holding it accountable for the alarming state of the education sector under its so-called “Education Model” imported from New Delhi.
“AAP’s claims of providing world-class education have been completely exposed. The reality is a collapsing education system that has left Punjab’s children without proper guidance and resources,” said Warring.
Highlighting the shocking statistics, he revealed that 44% of senior secondary schools in Punjab lack principals, with 856 out of 1,927 schools without a regular head.
“This government has promised the moon but has delivered nothing but empty advertisements. Where are the reforms they boasted about?” the PPCC Chief questioned.
Districts like Ludhiana, Bathinda, and Jalandhar are reeling under severe leadership crises in schools, with over 50% of schools in 10 districts and 27 education blocks operating without principals.
The PPCC Chief also lambasted the AAP’s Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains for his false assurances.
“The Minister’s claims of phased promotions is nothing but excuses. The children of Punjab cannot wait for AAP’s phased incompetence to resolve issues that should have been a priority from day one,” remarked Raja Warring.
“The lack of principals is just the tip of the iceberg. Over 8,000 teacher posts remain vacant across Punjab, which raises a serious question: where is the commitment to providing quality education?” he asked.
He further condemned the government for failing to incentivize rural postings and ensuring equitable development of educational infrastructure.
“The AAP government is more interested in managing their Delhi election campaign than addressing Punjab’s mounting issues. It’s shameful that the entire leadership of AAP Punjab is camped in Delhi while our state’s children and educators suffer,” Warring said. “This abandonment of duty proves that the AAP is a government of advertisements and electioneering, not governance.”
The PPCC Chief also pointed out that schools in districts like Mansa and Sangrur are among the worst affected, with Mansa alone having 82 headless schools.
“AAP’s education model has turned Punjab’s schools into rudderless ships. Their negligence is criminal and an insult to the aspirations of our youth,” he asserted. Calling for immediate action, Warring demanded that all vacant posts be filled without further delay.
“The AAP government must take accountability and resolve this crisis now. Recruitment and promotions must happen transparently and efficiently. Punjab’s children deserve better,” he said.
Amarinder Singh Raja Warring concluded with a sharp warning: “The people of Punjab will not forgive this betrayal. AAP came to power promising transformation but has delivered disaster. If they cannot govern, they should step aside for those who truly care about Punjab and its future.”
