Haryana Govt pushes for youth-led development through MY Bharat Portal

Chandigarh, March 4, 2025 – In a move to enhance youth participation in nation-building, a high-level meeting was held at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh, to explore Experiential Learning Opportunities (ELPs) and Youth Engagement via the MY Bharat Portal.
The session, chaired by Meeta Rajivlochan, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India, and moderated by Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS, brought together senior officials from Public Health, Higher Education, Agriculture, Skill Development, and other key government departments. Discussions focused on leveraging the MY Bharat platform to integrate youth into community service, leadership roles, and skill development programs.
Empowering Youth for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31, 2023, MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat) is a tech-driven platform that connects young individuals with volunteering programs, mentorship networks, and leadership training. It serves as a gateway for youth empowerment, equipping them with practical skills while contributing to social and economic development.

Haryana’s Plan for Youth Involvement
Government departments were urged to:
- Identify key programs where youth can contribute to community-driven projects
- Develop outreach strategies to maximize engagement on the MY Bharat platform
- Encourage skill-building and mentorship opportunities for holistic youth development.
