Punjab SEC announces election schedule for 16 Gram Panchayats in Patiala

Chandigarh, March 12, 2025: The Punjab State Election Commission (SEC) has announced the schedule for the General Elections to elect members for 16 Gram Panchayats in Block Sanour, District Patiala. The polling will take place on March 30, 2025 (Sunday).
The elections will be conducted in the following Gram Panchayats: Bhathalan, Bir Bahadurgarh, Deelwal, Farm Bahadurgarh, Majri, Peer Colony, Vidya Nagar, Hira Colony, Guru Nanak Nagar, Har Gobind Colony, Karheri, Kasba Rurki, Mehmadpur Jattan, Nawan Mehmadpur Jattan, Shamaspur, and Sheikhpur Kamboan.
Election Schedule:
Filing of nominations: March 17–20, 2025 (11 AM to 3 PM)
Scrutiny of nominations: March 21, 2025
Last date for withdrawal of nominations: March 22, 2025 (up to 3 PM)
Polling date (if required): March 30, 2025 (Sunday)
Counting of votes: Immediately after polling concludes
Completion of election process: April 1, 2025
An official spokesperson of the Punjab SEC confirmed that the Model Code of Conduct will come into effect from March 17, 2025, within the revenue jurisdiction of these 16 Gram Panchayats.
The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, has been directed to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections.
