New Delhi, October 11, 2026: Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Harmeet Singh Kalka and general secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon have condemned an alleged incident of political sloganeering and disruption at Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib in New Delhi.
The two leaders said using a place of worship for political propaganda was unacceptable and hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh congregation. They maintained that a gurdwara is a place of faith, peace and spirituality, and its sanctity must be respected by all.
According to the leaders, a formal complaint has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), New Delhi, against Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal and his associates in connection with the incident.
They said the complaint seeks a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including any alleged planning or coordination, and appropriate legal action against those found responsible.
Kalka and Kahlon urged the Delhi Police and other concerned agencies to conduct an impartial and time-bound inquiry and examine the role of everyone allegedly involved.
They also said religious places should not be used to advance political agendas, stressing that protecting the sanctity of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib was a shared responsibility of the administration and the public.
The allegations are contained in the complaint, and the circumstances of the incident would need to be established through an investigation.
