Hyderabad (Telegana), October 11, 2026: An IndiGo flight operating from Delhi to Chennai was diverted to Hyderabad after smoke was detected from a passenger’s personal electronic device, the airline said.
Flight 6E 6115 landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, after the pilots diverted the aircraft in accordance with established safety protocols.
According to an IndiGo spokesperson, the cabin crew responded promptly and brought the situation under control. The airline said an alternate aircraft had been arranged to continue the journey to Chennai.
IndiGo apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers and said it was making efforts to minimise the disruption by providing refreshments and timely updates.
The airline reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew remained its top priority.
