Weather Shift in Haryana: Rain likely in 5 districts, Hisar sizzles at 42.5°C, Karnal gets relief

Chandigarh, April 20, 2025 – A shift in weather patterns has brought mixed conditions across Haryana, with some districts expecting rainfall while others continue to reel under intense heat.
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected on Sunday in the districts of Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Karnal.While the skies are expected to remain cloudy on Saturday, no warning has been issued for heavy rain or thunderstorms.
The department has advised farmers and residents to take precautionary measures for crop safety and drainage management.From April 21 to 23, the weather is forecast to remain dry across the state, with daytime temperatures hovering around normal.
Experts suggest that while there will be sunshine during the day, the heat will be mild and tolerable, with cooler nights providing some respite.
Hisar Boils at 42.5°C, Hottest in State
On Friday, Hisar recorded a scorching 42.5°C, making it the hottest district in Haryana. The state’s average maximum temperature was reported to be 3.6°C above normal.
Hot winds and blazing sunlight sent people searching for shade and hydration.The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave advisory, urging citizens to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
Karnal Enjoys Weather Relief
In contrast, Karnal residents experienced a welcome drop in temperature, with the mercury falling by 3°C to settle at a comfortable 34°C. Locals expressed relief and appreciation for the cooler weather, which the department attributes to a western disturbance and localized atmospheric changes.
