Senior Vets appeal to Punjab Govt for clearance of dues to retired officers on priority

Mohali (Punjab), April 26, 2025:A meeting of the Senior Vets Association was held today at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Mohali, where concerns were raised regarding the delayed payments of leave encashment, pending medical bills, and other dues to retired officers.
Following the meeting, representatives of the association discussed the matter with the Director of Animal Husbandry, Punjab, Dr. Gursharanjeet Singh Bedi. Dr. Bedi informed that, in line with instructions from the Finance Department regarding pending payments related to the Pay Commission, letters have been issued to all Deputy Directors of Animal Husbandry across the state.
The letters instruct them to process payments for pensioners and employees promptly and, where necessary, personally approve payments to retired staff on a priority basis.Members of the association expressed their gratitude to Dr. Bedi for addressing their concerns swiftly and giving them top priority.
Dr. Bedi further shared that the Finance Department has allocated the necessary budget for pending medical bills, which will soon be distributed to various districts based on their demands.
Dr. Gurinder Singh Walia appealed to all Deputy Directors of Animal Husbandry, Punjab, to urgently send cases related to leave encashment and medical bills to the head office for approval, so that the retired officers can receive their long-pending dues
