Aftermath of shootout at Ferozepur Tattoo Shop: Police-CI Joint Op nets three more accused in 24 hrs
Ferozepur, June 7, 2025: In a swift and coordinated joint operation by the police and counter-intelligence officials, three more accused were apprehended within 24 hours in connection with the broad daylight shootout that took place two days ago at a tattoo shop, claiming the life of Ashu Monga.
The police had already registered two separate cross FIRs and arrested two accused on Friday - Angrez Singh and Joginder Singh. In a significant development, three more accused – Gurjinder alias Guri, Amarjit Singh, and Sonu – were arrested on Friday night.
DIG Harmanbir Gill informed that on Friday night, the police and counter-intelligence personnel had an encounter at a naka near Ratta Khera village while chasing the accused. In retaliation, the three accused were injured and subsequently arrested. The police also recovered four weapons, along with a white scooter and motorcycle that were used in the incident. Further investigations are ongoing, with a special focus on nabbing the remaining accused.
SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu stated that during a chase near Ratta Khera village on Friday night, an encounter ensued at a naka. The three accused sustained injuries in retaliatory fire and were arrested. They are currently under treatment in police custody.
The police also recovered four weapons, a white scooter, and a motorcycle used in the incident. It is noteworthy that the shootout occurred due to internal disputes between two groups in the city area, leading to the death of Ashu Monga.
SSP said, “With these latest arrests, the total number of accused arrested in the case has risen to five. Further investigations are ongoing, with a special focus on apprehending the remaining accused, who are expected to be arrested soon. Legal action will be taken as per the law”.
