Railway collects over Rs 7 lakh from 1,155 ticketless passengers
Ferozepur, June 25, 2025: In a continued effort to curb ticketless travel and promote comfortable and safe journeys, the Firozpur Division of Indian Railways has been conducting intensive ticket checking drives. These drives are being carried out under the direction of Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu and the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini.
On June 24, 2025, a large-scale ticket checking operation was conducted across multiple trains, including the Ganga Sutlej Express, Malwa Superfast Express, Amrapali Express, Amritsar Howrah Mail Express, Patalkot Express, Jammu Tawi Express, and Jammu Tawi Bhagat Ki Kothi Express. Joint teams comprising Ticket Checking Staff (TTEs) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel conducted rigorous inspections during the drive.
As a result, 1155 passengers were penalized for travelling without valid tickets or for irregular travel, leading to the recovery of revenue exceeding ₹7 lakh.
Parmdeep Singh Saini credited the success of the operation to the dedicated efforts of the ticket checking staff and RPF personnel. Their alertness and teamwork played a vital role in detecting ticketless travellers. He added that the division aims to ensure that all passengers travel with valid tickets and that such continuous drives are creating greater awareness among rail users.
