‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign
NABARD marks 44th Foundation Day with tree plantation drive led by DFO, DDM
Ferozepur, 16 July 2025: To commemorate NABARD’s 44th Foundation Day and bolster the national campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, NABARD Ferozepur organized a plantation programme at the Mamdot branch of Central Cooperative Bank (CCB).
Participants—including senior officials of Forest Department and CCB, PACS chairpersons and secretaries, FPO leaders, progressive farmers, panchayat representatives - took part, demonstrating the community’s collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
Surinder Singh, Divisional Forest Officer, Ferozepur and Rohit Kashyap, District Development Manager, NABARD, , jointly inaugurated the drive by planting the first sapling. They were accompanied by Kamaljeet Singh, Block Officer, Forest Department, and Ravinder, Range Officer, who together outlined the technical, ecological, and socio-economic benefits of afforestation.

DDM NABARD also reviewed NABARD’s landmark initiatives since 1982—emphasizing its pivotal role in strengthening cooperative credit in alignment with the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC‑2025). He, supported by his team, encouraged farmers and stakeholders to adopt tree-based farming to enhance farm income and restore ecological balance. Their collaborative gesture inspired enthusiastic participation from all attendees.
