Himachal: Chamba Minjar festival begins with offering of Minjar to Lord Raghunath, Lakshminath

Chamba (Himachal Pradesh), July 27, 2025: The historic and internationally recognized eight-day Minjar Festival of Chamba, a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity in Himachal Pradesh, commenced with great devotion and tradition.
The festival was formally inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who offered the ceremonial Minjar—crafted by the Mirza family—to Lord Lakshminath and Lord Raghunath.
A grand religious procession was taken out from the Municipal Council Office to Lakshminath Temple, accompanied by priests, district officials, and members of the Mirza family, followed by a ceremonial flag hoisting at the Chaugan Ground.
The event was graced by Sadar MLA Neeraj Nayyar, former MLA Pawan Nayyar, Municipal Council President Neelam Nayyar, Vice President Seema Kashyap, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, ADM Amit Mehra, AC Tourism Aparajita, SDM Priyanshu Khati, DSP Jitendra Chaudhary, MC councilors, and other prominent citizens of Chamba.
The festival will continue over the coming week with religious rituals, cultural performances, and community celebrations reflecting the rich heritage and social harmony of Chamba.
